Prolong the Life of Your Roof

The lifespan of the tiles on your roof will be extended after the effective removal of moss, lichen, and algae. These living organisms gradually damage your tiles as they cling tightly to the surface, initially causing fine hairline cracks. Over years, harsh winters with moss on the surface cause these hairline cracks to deepen and widen, resulting in broken tiles and even holes in some concrete tiles. This happens because moss retains water, which expands when it freezes, causing minor damage to potentially worsen over time.

No More Moss Falling onto Your Car, Driveway, Patio, or Paths

Preventing moss from falling from roofs is essential for many of our clients; it can become a daily nuisance, constantly needing to clear moss from the driveway, patio, pathways, or even the roof or bonnet of your cherished car.

The only way to prevent moss from falling is to remove it entirely from the roof of your house.

No More Moss Blocking Gutters

The gutters on your home are designed to channel rainwater from your roof safely away to soakaways below ground, protecting your home from water ingress, damp, and potential structural issues.

Moss is frequently to blame when downpipes are blocked (along with the occasional tennis ball!). Removing moss from your roof prevents it from falling into your gutters in the first place.

Improved Kerbside Appeal, Adding Value to Your Home

Having a clean roof on your home most certainly improves the visual appeal of your property and can even add value. If you’re putting your home on the market, cleaning the roof and gutters can be a worthwhile investment, as you can provide potential buyers with the peace of mind that comes with a moss-free guarantee (offered by all reputable roof cleaning companies, including ours).

No Mess Left Behind after Your Roof Clean

We’ve heard many horror stories of unscrupulous tradesmen who sell roof cleaning, do a poor job that damages roofs, and then leave behind a heap of mess – claiming it wasn’t their job to take it away!

None of that nonsense here at Invictus Home Solutions. Our small, friendly team ensures that each client’s property is left tidier than when we arrived! We use tarpaulins to protect grass and gravel from falling moss and ensure that all hard surfaces are thoroughly cleaned. We are licensed waste carriers, so we can take all roof and gutter waste away and dispose of it at a licensed disposal site.

Safety of Your Chosen Roof Cleaning Contractors

Many of our clients are rightly concerned about the safety of their chosen roof cleaners.

At Invictus Home Solutions, we take safety extremely seriously and never compromise when it comes to the safety of our clients, staff, the general public, animals, and wildlife.

For this reason, our day on site always begins with a risk assessment. Cones and barriers are set up to protect the public, overhead working signs are displayed, and only then does our work commence.

Biocidal Roof Wash

Manual roof moss removal followed by a biocidal roof wash is the most gentle and long-lasting solution for cleaning your roof.

We start by manually scraping moss from your roof tiles, followed by applying a biocidal wash. This treatment kills any remaining organisms on your roof, including moss spores and lichen. Over the next 3 to 6 months, your roof tiles gradually return to a more original appearance as surface dirt is lifted by the biocide and weathering. The biocide then repels new moss growth for 5-10 years, or even longer in some cases.
